I just recently upgraded my system and it turned out that the motherboard I got the MSI K7T266Pro2 doesnt have any ISA slots to handle my old Sound Blaster 64 AWE Gold. Well now im looking for a soundcard that has Left/Right RCA audio inputs like the one the 64AWE gold has if anyone know what im talking about. I know the SB Audigy platinum EX has it on its breakout box but its mounted in a 5 1/4 drive in the front. I need something thats in the back so I can plug in my speakers. I wasted $80 on some Left/Right monster audio cables and i hate to see it go to waste. Thanks all.

You just need an adapter to convert the 2 RCA plugs to an 1/8" stereo jack. (or a cable with the desired connectors on each end) The 1/8" inputs on soundcards are stereo, just need a stereo plug and stereo cable.

Not familar with that soundcard.

Are you looking for L/R Line-In? If so, the only ones that I know of are the Audigy Platinum/Platinum Ex and Hercules GTXP. Both have the inputs on the front of the breakout boxes.

I'm looking for Left/Right Line-Outs. The Soundblaster AWE64Gold had L/R lineouts instead of the 1/8" jack that we're all accustomed to. I was under the impression that the L/R on the SB Live breakout box were outputs, not inputs, so if i stuck my speakers in those, it would play.

if you need L/R line-outs like rca connections, you can buy a stereo (1/8") > dual rca cable and hook up your system that way.

among other things, the breakout box has optical in/outs coaxial in/outs and analog (L/R) inputs.

You probably won't find line level analog RCA L/R plugs on most consumer cards. Most consumer cards, even the better ones like the Santa Cruz and AcousticEdge, use 1/8" minijacks for their I/O. While Creative cards like the Live! and Audigy may have the L/R RCA plugs, their performance isn't exactly good compared to the 2 I mentioned above. You might wanna look into a semi-pro card such as the Midiman Audiophile 2496. This has L/R I/O as well as digital coax I/O.
