I have a X-fi Falal1ty Pro card, which is a PCIex1 card. I'm looking to upgrade to an i7 system, and was eyeing the EVGA X58 3X SLI board.
I know you're suppose to be able to use a PCIex1 card in a PCIex16 slot, but I couldn't get it to work with my current motherboard.
Luckily It had a PCIex1 slot free of the Duel slot graphics card(albeit very close) which the new EVGA board will not.
So the question is. Is this a common problem with the X-Fi card or maybe a BIOS issue with the old motherboard?
(Just for a little side rant. Why do they even put a slot near the first PCIex16? Not like any one using that kind of board is going to have anything less then a GFX card that uses a Duel slot cooler. Seriously keep the slot and give me my 50 cents back. lol =P)
