If the MP3 5.1 costs less than the older X-Gamer, is there a reason to buy the x-gamer? Isn't the only difference the software bundle? I'm just curious.

Can someone side by side the games bundles on the 5.1 X-Gamer, versus the 4.1 X-Gamer that Staples has?

The OD deal is B&M only AFAIK.
There was a coupon that was mailed to people that was good for 15 off 50. (

Unless you watch DVDs on your computer, I don't quite see why the one speaker makes a big difference except in price. Current games most likely don't use the 5 speaker setup although future games might. I personally think headphones are the best (at least for FPS). The non 5.1 bundle includes Decent 3, Theif, NFS4 and 5.1 contains MDK2,UT, Dues Ex and Theif II if I recall correctly. Here are the specs for the SBLive linkdafied and the 5.1 linkdafied

the code can be traced to seventy two squared plus fiftynine

hope this helps

One bit of info I'm still looking for, is whether the Live! X-Gamer cards have any audio in jacks. Regular 4.1 or 5.1 flavors, either one. Or both.

This is important to me for the sound side of video capture.

Thanking you all kindly, in advance. :D

Yes, they do have line-ins. Check out the specs.

I have my DVD-decoder card's sound out connected to the 5.1's sound-in so the sound comes out my speakers.

Thanks nallur. I didn't see the connection info on the writeup for the 4.1 X-Gamer on the Creative site. But that has got to be the same. Good.
