VTBigBear-
As far as I know, they don't sell this card retail anymore. It was the original Live! card. This was before the Value, Gamer, Mp3, and Platinum were out.

Just 'cause it doesn't have an digital RCA or mini-RCA, or TOSLink connector doesn't mean it doesn't have SPDIF. My Live! Value which I bought retail many moons ago has a pin connector on the board to which an RCA cable can be attached for electrical digital output. Or those connectors can be used to attach an additional circuit board for optical digital input and/or output. Search the General Hardware forum for more. audiencedp.com sells the Hoontech stuff in the USA. Also check www.listen.to/sblive

LuZeR -

Hoontech is Korean, although there are two distributers in the US. One is listed above, both are at the hoontech web site. In addition to the add-ons for the SB Live series, hoontech makes some great sound cards themselves. I personally have the Digital XG, as I prefer the Yamaha 744 chip to the EMU, although I am thinking of jumping on this deal as well. There are different brackets available for the SB Live, and all would be better choices than buying the Creative LAbs digital bracket. (Although the convenience of the LiveDrive is nice, I don't think the cost is justified.) When I ordered my card, it arrived in two days from Korea (since the only distributor in Australia couldn't offer me a lower price, even after international shipping!). I've gotta say, I'm very pleased with what Hoontech has to offer, is sound cards, and in add-ons. (My $.02)

falconx88:

In my system, the Live uses IRQ 7....suprisingly it shares this irq with my Voodoo3 and USB ports.

Yes, this card is worth getting - the quality is amazing for such a cheap card! I paid $45 for the same card from Compgeeks a couple months ago and don't regret it. I upgraded from AWE64 to PCI128 and Live was a leap and a bound better than any other soundcards I've owned. In a word, "GETIT!"

'Course, if you don't have it hooked up to your home theater system, you won't notice the difference ;)
