Soundblaster Live driver question?

Hello, I was just wondering if I just install the drivers for the soundblaster live and absolutely no other apps or such, will I still be able to use EAX in games?

When I mean just the drivers, I mean when the ADD new hardware wizard popped up, I just pointed it to the drivers on the CD and afterwards I never bother running the setup program on the CD.
 
I would install Liveware if that is what you are asking, it also updates the drives and you can customize it even more, one other thing is that you can disable everything that was installed on start up after you have setup the settings
 
Also I could not setup my 4 speakers without the Liveware software(was only able get the front speakers working without Liveware2 or 3 installed).
 
Hmm okay, thanks guys. BTW, i dunno if it was just me or not, but when I did have the apps and other such installed, my dvd's and mp3's sounded a little bit better.
