This seems like a hot deal if you're going to build for first system. If you're looking to upgrade your own computer, then I suggest getting the refurb Dell from Cmpgeeks to speed up your system. It's around $59 shipped. You decide. Good luck.

The price is excellent for the refurb. Dell, but it requires RDRAM and it doesn't have a continuity rimm if only one RDRAM is installed. Also, it says it also need some type of Intel FC_PGA Socket 370 (hopefully they're talking about the processor and not an adapter) Other than that, it seemed like a good deal.

But could anyone that has the PC-BLaster has any comments on their current system? Thanks!!

I just put one together for my parents. The kit does come as all separates parts (case, motherboard, etc.). It also comes with an assembly guide which is unbelievably good (excellent step by step detailed instructions accompanied by pictures). A 2-year-old could have no problem assembling this baby. Overclocking, for those inclined, can be done via the BIOS. So far, I like it a lot.

I bought only the 149.99 kit from Tiger. It took about three weeks to get. I just got the time and the rest of the parts to put it together. I am using the 700 Mhz Celeron from Tiger, a Quantum 30 Gig Hard Drive, 128m PC133 Crucial ram, An AllinWonder Pro 128 Graphics card, an older Viking ISA modem card and a generic X24 CD.
So far the only complaint I have is that the CPU cooling fan is quite loud .
Assembly went without a problem and the OS loaded without a hitch. I wanted to get the basic box runnig so that I knew there were no problems and now I am starting to setup the AllinWonder card. I will also be adding a DVD drive as soon as I get the other things squared away.
Oh yes, I've never put one together before and this was a no brainer. Good basic instructions.

TigerDirect's P3 900mhz sounds decent if one doesn't like buying the rest of the parts everywhere else. I am a little worry about the not very good Creative CD-RW.

I ordered my BlasterPC kit on March 9th. Today is April 9th, and their status page still says "Awaiting Inventory" for every item on my order. The amazing thing is that they still have this system featured prominently on their homepage, but they can't fill orders made a month ago. Are they trying to dig their own grave, or what?

Has anyone else waited this long?

I ordered mine on March 7th. I received a backorder mailing on the 14th and decided to call to find out why they were still showing it on their page. I didn't want to get the other parts if the kit was N/A. They assured me that it would be in within a week. When I called the second time on the 26th they didn't know what the holdup was but they shipped the kit the next day. I think that you may have to pester them some.
