soundblaster audigy and win xp help please

Ok i have a sound blaster audigy and it worked great on windows 2k but when i upgraded to windows xp it has been acting gay. Sometimes the sound crackles like its skipping or something it happens randomly but its really horrible when iam insalling an app or something. I have tried everything driver upgrades i even took back the card and got another one. Any suggestions on how to fix this???

Welcome to Anandtech forums tonyhams123,have you tried the Audigy in a different PCI slot, also what motherboard do you have?
