Sound upgrade?

I'm thinking about upgrading from the onboard sound on my A8N-SLI. Is there a fairly inexpensive card (<$30) that will be a worthwhile upgrade?

Thanks for the reply. I was looking at that card on Slickdeals this morning. I currently have this speaker setup on my computer. It's 5 years old, but I think it does ok. I mainly game and occasionally listen to music. I appreciate any advice, since I know very little about sound equipment.

For just stereo usage, a Chaintech AV-710 would be a good card.

If you have a multichannel set, I would suggest saving up for something a bit better... like this http://forums.anandtech.com/messageview...atid=40&threadid=1977678&enterthread=y
I second this card. Actually, it might be fine with 5.1 speakers also.

Newegg sells it: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16829120103

A bit cheaper at ZZF

VanTheMan, with 2.1 speakers I think that card would be a good match.

You can learn more about it here and how to use the rear DAC for better quality output.
