Sound system decisions?

Hey, I'm about to invest in a new PC, which is something I rarely do, so I'm a bit apprehensive of any compatibility probs, etc. Here's the components, I'll be grateful if anyone can forsee any problems before I go out and get them.

The New:
AMD XP 1800+
EPoX 8KHA+ Motherboard
WinFast GeForce3 Ti200
2 sticks of DDR266 256MB RAM from Crucial
Sound Blaster Audigy Platinum
Antec SX1240 Full Tower w/ included 350W PSU
Klipsch ProMedia 5.1

Old Parts grabbed off of old machine:
Plextor 12A/10/32
Toshiba 6X DVD-ROM
Maxtor PCI Controller Card (supports ATA100)
2 Maxtor 80GB ATA100 HDs
Floppy A Drive

And the OS:
Debating between Win2k and XP

The new parts xcluding the Klipsch came in just under $950 including S/H.

Main Concerns and Issues:

1) COMPATIBILITY!! Anything out of place? Or anyone have a similar setup and experienced problems?

2) Is 350W enough to supply the power for all that? (Including a good amount of fans and possibly more HDs as I continue to upgrade)

3) Does anyone have a recommendation for a good heatsink/fan to use? I'm pretty clueless as to what I'm doing here since this is going to be my first time installing a CPU.

4) Also, I was reading through Andy's FAQ, and w/ respect to DVD playback, a second generation drive was recommended w/o any explanation? Will it affect the quality of the decoding process or whatnot?

5) Lastly, I'm shooting for building an extremely high-end rig. ANY suggestions for improvement? (I don't need the 3d power of a GF3 Ti500 and I'll live with 12X CDR for now...but anything else other than those)

Once I get these little things ironed out, I'll feel a lot better about ordering everything.

Thanks!

Yes, 350 will be fine

I suggest the SK-6 from thermalright. check out this AT roundup of socketA coolers

I don't see anything hold you back. You're gonna have a VERY good system. My only suggestion is to make sure you mount the HSF with arctic silver II thermal epoxy
