If they're not too big and ugly, I'd say the A2s look really promising. (these are significantly smaller)

So what do you guys think?

The A2s have – what? – a 2.75" driver? and cost $200! Also the volume control is on the rear side of the speaker.

The Swan M200MkIIs have a larger driver, probably more amp power, convenient front-mounted bass, treble, and volume knobs, plus they cost less.

I say the Swans would be the no-brainer pick, unless you really really want a compact speaker. The M200s are tall, weighty, and solid, but they are worth their weight in auditory bliss. I have a pair.

* Speaker for the Dead, a science fiction novel by Orson Scott Card Why would we talk about a science fiction book here
* HMS Speaker (D90), a WWII Royal Navy aircraft carrier Surely you can't be serious

Anyway...you get the point. You can just say "speaker"...we'll know what your talking about.

And yes, the Creative speakers are more expensive and worse.

Thank for your help guys, you´re being very generous.

And what about these: http://us.creative.com/product...gory=789&product=18043

Are they better than the M200MkIIs?

I'm not familiar with them and there seems to be a dearth of info on the linked page.

Downsides when compared to the M200s:

plastic cabinet — not MDF like M200s
satellites geared toward higher freqs &ndash despite manufacturer claims of 'full mid-range'
pricier
bass adjustment knob on rear of 'sub' (extra inconvenient if sub is on the floor)
no treble adjustment like M200s (FWIW)
no info on power rating or driver size
brand

Upsides when compared to the M200s:

Includes headphone jack
Maybe lower bass extension (guess)
Minimal desk space required
Lightweight

Guys, actually heaphone jack isn´t important, I can plug it directly to my case or to the sound card.

And I need something light, my mom´s going to bring it from NY to me and there´s a weight limit in airplane travelling.

Neither would be what I would call "light".

i used to have the first one, didnt like it and upgraded to t6200 5.1 on my htpc.

have the 2nd one on my gf pc, sound is very solid.

dunno much about 3rd and 4th ones.

I think i´ll get the third, nice design, good sound and not so heavy. At least they will be better than my shitty speakers.
