OK, I'm an idiot, but I haven't been able to find an ap that will allow me to record analog sound fed in through my SB Live MP3+ 5.1 aux input. Has ne1 done so successfully and what did you use to do so? My system config is as follows:

Abit BH6
Sillyron II 533 @ 800, 1.55V
SoundBlaster Live MP3+ 5.1
30GB Maxtor
Radeon DDR 32
cheesy network card for cable modem
diamond phoneline network card
diamond 56K modem (never used anymore, poor baby)
WinXP 2526

and a rapidly shrinking bag of patience... ;)

I run a 6-ft. RCA stereo to mini-plug patch cable to the line-in jack on the back of my Diamond MX-300 sound card. I record the WAV file using the recording facility in Exact Audio Copy (EAC, primarily a CD audio ripper, available for download at r3mix.net). You may need to run the volume control applet; Click on Options, then Properties and select recording. Make certain there is a check mark next to the line-in control. Now you should be able to record the sound to a WAV file. Once the WAV is captured, I use EAC to process the file. By that I mean I first normalize the file, then trim the beginning and end of a song and clean up any obvious clicks or pops in the file using the built-in sound editor in EAC. When I'm satisfied with the recording I, save it as a WAV and close EAC. I then use RazorLame to encode the WAV to MP3 using the --r3mix parameter (the r3mix switch gives the best compromise between file size and sound quality.
