Hey everyone,

I'm a long time reader, and this is my first post. Here's my issue...I'm trying to record some video clips from my Sega Dreamcast. I am using the ASUS v7700 64 deluxe to do this. The "video" is capturing just fine. But, I don't get any audio on my recorded clips. Here's my system specs.

1 GHz AMD (not oc'd)
ASUS V7700 deluxe 64Mb
SBLive Value
Plextor 16/10/40
Toshiba DVD
IBM 30 GB
512 Mb RAM
Adaptec 29160 SCSI controller
Seagate 8.4 Gb SCSI hdd

I am running Win98, and using the ASUS Live software that came with the card. I tried the using the Microphone in jack to record, and it worked.....but it sounded like crap. Any suggestions on how I could get quality sound would be very much appreciated. Thanks.

hook the audio out from your tv/stereo (however you have the DC connected) to the line in on your soundcard and enable "line in" in the control center.

If your tv/stereo doesn't have audio out, you're pretty much stuck :D

Crizzo said it....that's all you need to do...it shouldn't matter what hardware you're runnning. If I were going to do such a task, I'd probably use RCA cables to transmitt the signal. You can get a connector to go from Left and Right RCA audio to a 3.5 mil audio connector (standard for sound card inputs) from Radio Shack for about 4.95....I know that's a rip, but you only have to pay it once.
