im currently using the Onboard Creative soundchip on Gigabyte 7VRXP and have a 4.1 speaker set which is currently connected as just stereo using the front in cable only to the line out.
all is great but i was at my local pc store thing and the guy said that there is a way to change in properties, the line in output jack into a rear out jack-is this true?? the sound chip is currently recognised as SoundBlaster PCI 128 by Win XP pro-does someone have some info or link about makin the line in and rear out?

also, whats teh difference in running the speaker system as stereo or as front/rear anyway?
AND, lol, if i get a 5.1 PCI card, which has 3 output connectors i think, i can use my 4.1 speakers as front/rear and all i'll lose is the centre speaker?

You won't lose the center speaker because you don't have a center speaker with a 4.1 setup. You'll just plug the front two into the front output and the rear two into the rear output.

I tried searching Google for the line-in to line-out but couldn't come up with anything 😛

hey thanks for trying anyway, i think i might start trawling through the net and see if i can find something
