Sound problems with new Abit VP6 (PLEASE HELP!)

I'm experiencing sound problems with my new VP6. I've installed Win2k like 5 times now, which sucks btw. The problem usually crops up after I install my mouse software and I right click somewhere (like in Winamp or the start bar). I don't know if it's just a coincidence that it happens right after I install the mouse drivers. My next install I'll hold off on the mouse drivers for awhile and see what happens. I can also try it as a PS/2 mouse instead of USB. Does anyone have any suggestions as what is wrong? It also doesn't shut down properly once the sound problems start occuring. I have the mouse connected through my MS keyboard. Here is the order I install everything (as ACPI):

Win2k
Via 4in1 (i've tried both the 4.25 and 4.27 drivers)
Video Card
Mouse
SP1 (i've done sp1 before the mouse too)

Should I take out the sound card and install it after everything else?
The new system I'm installing this to:
Abit VP6
2x P3 700's overclocked to 1GHz at default voltage (the one good thing so far)
Leadtek Geforce2
Vortex2 based sound card

Any and all help will be appreciated!!

Oh, and nothing shows up bad in the device manager. It doesn't appear to have much IRQ sharing, but there are some virtual IRQ's that were created.
