** Please forgive me if this is in the wrong forum
Ok here goes..
This all stared when i heard crackling noise from my speakers and my abvious thought was that my speakers are bad so i tried some older speakers and the sound was the same ( crackling ). So I put in a SB Live! Value and the sound was fine but in windowsME in sound properties the sound bars dont work. I mean when you put the sound to the max or to mute in windows the sound doesnt change when you play a mp3 or any other thing that has sound ( DVDs, video games ). I can only adjust the sound from winamp or my speaker dials, I have tried reformatting to windows98 and the problem is the same. Only 1 bar works in sound properties and that is the DirectSound/Ware mute option only works not the bar itself. And in "Play Control" there are always 3 green boxes sometimes its 4. Also before SB Live! Value i had the Sound Blaster Live! 5.1 x-gamer.
** I did all the windows updates, I have all the latest drivers for all my computer hardware, BIOS are also set to the latest version.
