sound problem (Logitech X-530 & GA-K8nxp-sli)

I just bought a whole new system the other, including the X-530 speakers and GA-K8nxp-sli mobo. what has been pissing me off is that no matter i plug into the 'front speaker out' port only the right speaker makes sound. I've got the newest drives for the onboard sound card but i still can't figure out what the problem is. I've gotten to the point to where i just to by a new 5.1 card but would really want to avoid it.

if anyone could give me any idea what going on, that would be great.

i would only assume it stereo. I did try it with two other speaker sets and nothing different happened. i'm getting to the point that i think it faulty wiring on the board.

the Logitec x-530 uses stand audio cable and has three cables in total that connect to the computer. I?m not sure what each one is (I?m not at my place right now) but they were you're standard oranges, black, and green speaker cables for a 5.1 system.

hm, that is odd. The best thing to do is to eliminate things that can't be a problem. Try swapping the cables around. If it keeps happening with the same speakers you know its not the cable. You already said you try two different speakers so that eliminates the speakers. So its either a settings issue or its a bad mobo. I am wary to call it the second. I would see if you are getting any voltage out of that port with a Multimeter. Other than that, reinstall the latest audio drivers...look for a Realtek release(if thats what is on the board) sometimes they come seperately from the chipset drivers. Also if you can reset the sound settings to default, do it

It's not too unusual to have problems with the onboard sound. I would suggest getting a cheap soundcard and trying that.
You can get the Chaintech SC shipped for $16 from Newegg.
I had planned to use my onboard sound, but it didn't work with teamspeak. So I just got the Chaintech and it works great.
