Sound Output and Quality?

Hey!
Just a general question. I was wondering if a set of Klipsch with a high-end sound card like a Hercules Game TheaterXP can produce sound better than a hig-end stereo system like say a Bose? What do u think?

Thanx

P.S. My PC hangs whenever I try to post a message and I end up posting twice! can I delete one of my posts by any chance?

To answer the original question, NO! Not even a regular Audio System will be inferior by the sound reproduced by the a personal computer, unless you rig the computer system to a regular audio system, then maybe.

Bose speakers are very good on their own merits. Every industry has at least one company that all the so called enthusiasts think is fashionable to bash. Bose happens to be it for HT. Their speakers are definitely overpriced, no question about that, but they can charge more because they have the name that casual consumers recognize and because they are the best you can buy in most major chains. Why should they lower prices if they can sell at a higher one, deserved or not?

To answer the original question, even a modest HT setup will sound much better than Klipsch and a computer, including Bose systems as well.

Wow, I didn't know Honda was overpriced at all. That sucks for you if you think so...

Yeah, I agree with Pariah about Bose...Bose also makes their interface very, very simple to use (for older people like my parents).

Yup, typically, anything you'll find in the stores will sound better than a PC speaker solution.

I'll tell you a little story about a Honda and a Mercury. I just sold a '97 Honda Prelude that was bought new for $25k and I got $17,500 after 4 years and 50k miles on the clock.

Now.. My dad has a '97 Mercury Sable that he bought for about $25k and he has a few more miles (60K), but he'd be lucky to get $8K for his car.

What's overpriced?

Honda is a very reasonably priced car and what the car gives you in reliablity and resale, more than makes up for the dealer cost (or below) that you got on that hot Ford.

Oh.. I wanted to add something. I put absolutely nothing into the Honda other than gas, oil and tires. My dad's transmission and alternator just went out within 2 months of each other. $2,500 for the tranny which Mercury would not do a damn thing about and $600 for a stinking alternator because of the way the engine is engineered. He got soaked on labor as a result of it.
