Sound like a Bad Mobo?

Recently I pulled one of my HD's out of the system in the sig below. When I put it back together it wouldn't start up...no power, no post - no nothing. I completely disassembled (all the way to taking Mobo and PS out of the case) and reassembled NUMEROUS times and nothing happened. All cards pulled, all wires disconnected, etc, etc...only thing I didn't do was pull the CPU. I tested the power supply at Fry's and it was fine.

Well low and behold, one day it decided to work after the umpteenth attempt. Fast forward 2 months. On Friday night I went to power up and the same thing happend. This time I thought maybe it was the switch on the case. I pulled the switch plugs from Mobo and put them back on - low and behold it powered up. Sunday the same thing happened again - but this time pulling the switch plugs to MOBO didn't help. Same problem - can't get it to power up whatsoever.

I remember a lot of people last time (months ago) said completely dissassemble it as it sounded like a short somewhere...well that clearly didn't help on the first 10 times.

Any thoughts on what else it might be?

TIA.

What do you mean by testing the powersupply? Did they actually plug it into another machine and see if it ran stable or they just connected and see if it powered up?

Did you ever swap out the ram or use a different video card?

I would suggest another powersupply, borrow a buddies. If this fails, it most likely the powersupply.

They had a little dealie-bob (that's the technical name) at Fry's which they hooked my PS up to. Hooked up to said dealie-bob it turned on just fine. Right after that, upon returning to my house, it still didn't work for quite some time. That, plus it's an Enermax that is under 1-yr old - and people have told me Enermax is a pretty good brand. I dunno - I just don't think it's the PS - but I'll see if I can get my hands on another one.

My other option is taking my buddy up on his offer for a free 800Mhz FSB P4 (around 3Ghz) - he's an INTC employee. Then I'll pick up a small shuttle box w/ Mobo and recycle the rest of my stuff until I want to upgrade the Ram...
