Sound Issue with Notebook

I just got a new notebook and I noticed that when I boot it up the Windows Startup music plays like a broken record. Given, this is not a big deal at all. BUT, because I just dropped a bunch of money on this machine I would like for it to work correctly. Does anyone know why this happens or how to fix it?

Also, the network connection taskbar icons (the ones in the bottom right-hand side of the windows task bar) do not load until 4 minutes or so after the computer starts. Why would there be this delay? When I first got the computer, this did not happen; the icons loaded immediately. Why does this delay take place?

Wow, way too much info about what kind of notebook you bought. My mind is boggled and overflowing with ideas. Maybe you coudl narrow it down a bit.
 
Well, I wasn't expecting a sarcastic response, but it is a Dell Latitude D600. If you are going to be rude, please just don't respond.
