Sound errors in Rune

When I start Rune up, I get terrible sound glitches. Garbled, crackling sound which slows the whole game down and makes it unplayable besides the sh!tty sound!

Can anyone offer some advice? I've reinstalled the OS several times, not to mention the game itself.
 
Silly question for someone who's re-installed the OS and the game.

Have you checked for any patches for the game?

Also, what is your sound card? Any updates for it as well?
