Sound driver for Epox 8kha+ MB with Redhat 8?

According to the Red Hat web site (which you could have easily found yourself) the on-board sound has been supported since v.7.0 and the drivers are under Via Techonologies 82Cxxx on the CD.

Do you mind telling me which words you used to search the redhat site? I used "Epox 8kha+ sound driver" to search the Redhat site, Google, SourceForge, and Freshmeat and did not find what I was looking for. Perhaps I was just using the wrong words to search, but don't assume I didn't try to seach on my own first before posting here.

I went to the red hat site -> support -> 'hardware compatibility' in column on left. I know from the Epox web site that your mobo's on-board sound is integrated in the Via chipset, so I went down the list to Via and Via Technologies, voila. I wouldn't try to do a search unless I came up empty-handed using the normal site nav tools.

Thanks, I realized there was a support search under redhat after your first post last night (so I'm a little new to Linux and Redhat's site). I found an rpm for sndconfig which for some reason wasn't automatically installed before, and it found Via Techonologies 82Cxxx like you said, but sound still won't work. I did find a site which on a brief glance before sleep last night seems to give instructions on what to do should sndconfig fail, so I'm going to give that a shot later this weekend.
