Sound Causing Video Lag?

Recently I've posted about my 6600gt lagin a lil and how to correct this. While playing call of duty I downgraded my sound settings because i was using th creative 24 bit eax3 or something and i downgraded it to the regular sound setting. Since I have done that the videa card has been running perfect with no lag once so ever. My question is, how do I get the sound settings to increase without getting lag, I have an Audigy 2 zs.

Sometimes sound quality slows the whole game down just like picture quality does. If you turn 3D sound on with max settings, that has the same effect as 2aa/4af in some games with good sound. Its probably cause your system isnt that high end either
