sound cards

hi everyone,
i want to know what are the available sound cards that can act as a reciever because I'm a little confused since when i see a card with digital i/o i assume that is the one but after some research it turns out to be wrong so could u help me by listing these cards

perhaps you can clarify what you mean by acting as a receiver...
