Micro board, my video card covers up both PCI slots on this thing.. so i'm left with a 1x PCI-e slot to put a sound card in.

This is the card I was hoping to get: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16829132006 but I don't think it will fit, there's a huge brass piece to the right of the slot and that's a very long card.

Any chance someone's used this card on this mobo before? Or if you used any other card that fit in that 1x slot it'd help me out a ton. I really don't want to spend $80 on the chance it will fit.

I have a Hauppauge 2250 in that 1x slot and a Xonar D1 in the last PCI slot. I'm pretty sure a DX would fit in the 1x slot.

Awesome, that's what I wanted to hear. You didn't have any problems fitting the HVR across that brass piece with the ASUS logo?

I own two of these boards, what is this brass piece?

If you are referring to the Northbridge heatsink then it will clear that, the top PCIe 1x slot is on the very bottom of that heatsink, the the card will clear the small lip on the bottom of the heatsink no problem and is not high enough up on the mobo to hit the taller middle of the heatsink.

I just looked at the board in my server and it looks clear down past the RAM slots, should accept a VERY long card if needed.

Yeah that heatsink is what I was referring to. I wasn't worried about having room past the heatsink like you said it's clear all the way down past it I was just worried it wouldn't get past that.

Thanks for the reponses, that's exactly what I wanted to hear. Gonna grab up that DX now. =)
