You run a cable from the Audigys digital output to your reciever. (coaxial, there's not optical on the ZS)

yea and i already have a small mini toslink adapter so no money spent :D

"No money spent" is good. The Audigy 2ZS is a good sound card. Before the B*** downturn, all my friends would just dump the older model and go "X-Fi". And so did I. It was "almost a mistake" that I gave the computer with the X-Fi card to my brother, choosing not to bother removing it and reconfiguring to the onboard. But the difference between Audigy and X-Fi -- or too-early retirement of the former for the newer -- weren't worth it, unless you wanted PCI-E x1 as opposed to PCI.

I recently went through similar pre-decision investigations, thinking I needed a new sound card, looking at $100+ options at the Egg. There seem to be fewer soundcard options available -- either for more people using their HDMI/display-port on a graphics card, or using the onboard sound (like the RealTek on my Z68 board.)
