what minimum specs should a sound card have if it is to play cd quality sound? which current cards will do this?
 
Almost all on-board (integrated) sound cards have more than exceptional sound for basic CD-quality music... Or if you're an audio enthusiast, you can settle for the Creative series (Live 5.1, Audigy, Audigy 2).. or Hercules GameTheater cards.. I also hear Turtle Beach isn't bad....
