Sound card question

I just built a system using a cheap case that doesn't have front audio ports. I have a basic 2.1 speaker system, but I also use headphones alot of the time. Is there a sound card that has separate speaker and headphone jacks that will let me keep both plugged in and then choose which output I want to use via software?

I don't believe there is one. You're best bet is getting a device selector with 3.5mm inputs and outputs. They are semi rare...but are out there.

radio shack should have a splitter for the audio out on your motherboard or soundcard, you plug the splitter in, then plug your speakers into one input on the splitter and soundcard into the other (then you just have to mute/turn off hte speakers when you only want audio out of the headphones).

Thanks for the reply, guys. After looking around, it looks like I'll be able to do what I want with a cheap Turtle Beach sound card. It sounds like I can use their "Versa-jack" to choose what output I want through their software.
