Sound card fried???

I have a $500 audio recording card that went bad... Now I have a few questions.

What exactly are these things?

Look at C220


Would it be possible to desolder the bad one and replace it?

You could but I would be very careful. If you have never done component repair I wouldn't do it.

Is there any way you can get the manufacturer to fix it? Even for a small fee, it's probably better than doing it yourself, if you aren't sure what you're doing, like ^ said...
