Would Chaintech AV-710 be good enough? I rarely play games now, mostly music/movies. THanks

Forgot to add that my onboard audio is Realtek AC97. Do you think I'd get enough performance for spending like ~$30 extra for the Chaintech?

There is always a better option ;)

Lol, ok. Like what? I don't want to spend a ton of money on a sound card... just want a decent card.

an Audigy 2 ZS or X-fi will have a better analog output.

You can get the audigy for $60 new and X-fi's can be found for about $90 on a good sale.

the audigy 2zs are getting cheaper so it might be a better investment if you pay a little more for that. but if you can't then the chaintech is great.

Upgrading your speakers would yield a much better result than merely upgrading your soundcard.

It isn't like those Z2300s are very revealing.

With that said, the Chaintech is a good card for the money, but the drivers are not the best.
