Sound card doesn't fit on MOBO, new MOBO

Like I said before, all the right angle risers simply make the card sideways, I can't mount it if it's sideways.

Seriously tho, the right angle is much shorter & would fit under the card when mounted in an empty slot. I'm not sure if they make right angle going both directions, or whether you have enough length/space/flexibility to fit the cable under card+right angle & approach from the bottom of the case.

Edit: 1) You could just get more flexible risers & go over/around your sound card if you can't go straight to it or under. Pcie can be extended meters.

2) Your weird microphone drone is a result of the mic amps being a few mm away from the video card fan. Since mics produce such low power in the first place the signal has to be magnified, but you are also magnifying any signal induced by the fan's EM fields. The radiation quickly falls with distance, so if you can get a couple of slots gap it would be a night & day difference.

Are you implying I should plug my PCI extender into a right angle adapter? Because that still wouldn't work, I tried to explain this in my picture. I can connect the cord into the PCI slot on the motherboard just fine, the problem is the PCI slot on the cord is simply too tall, much higher than the motherboard so I can't mount my soundcard to the case.

If this is not what you meant, I'm sorry, I have no idea what you mean then. But if you don't know what I mean I can take a pic.

At this point I might just get a new motherboard.

Could the radiation damage my soundcard o_o?

Closer. Because the pcie slot on the right angle is shorter, I was suggesting you could try:

Motherboard pcie => flexible riser => right angle riser => sound card in empty slot.

This is all academic though, I've never done it myself I just think people should be aware of the possibility. I also like hose fittings.

And no, I don't imagine it'll hurt your card. It's like the radiation which used to make radios go "brrrrrm beep-diddlybipbopderp-bup-bup" before a cellphone did stuff: just more boring.

Ohh, I get what you mean now. Ehh, I don't know if I'd want to risk that. I guess I'll just get a new motherboard, I have to reinstall Windows anyways since I'm getting a SSD next week. On that note, Windows 7 or Windows 8 ?

Good choice, this motherboard is the same or better all round, with the pcie down one more slot. I'm still not sure it's the optimal place for your sound card but, without getting ghetto or substantially increasing your budget, it should still be much better.

I'm sure the locals can make better suggestions though, and have much more insight into windows than me

That board should work fine, though there's really no risk of breaking anything due to doing the riser chaining that richaron suggested.
