Sound card crashes pc

my diamondmm mx300 sound card crashes when i try to play vida and sound together.....or just a mp3....not sure whats wrong(?) any ideas? (updated mx300 drivers) life without sound sucks :'-/
 
Try going to www.vortexofsound.com
they are one of the last places that still supports Aureal sound cards (the MX300 is a aureal sound card)
with the last MS certifyed drivers for the Aureal Vortex 2 sound card I've never really had any problems..
 
If you are running the Diamond drivers, do as Tannah suggests and get the reference ones from Vortex of Sound.

Also make sure to disable SB Emulation (DOS Emulation).
 
Heck, I never could gte my Vortex sound card to work even after 'trying' to install the new drivers from
vortexofsound. It would ALWAYS hang on the .inf install.

I had to go back to the on-board sound chip.
