Ok, so a few days ago, I posted that I thought my CPU was toast..

My system had been running 30+ days straight without a hiccup (record being 115 days), and like normal, I shut the monitor off and went to bed. When I came back the next day.. all that was showing was the screen saver.. tried rebooting but system wouldnt even post.

So I cracked it open to see what was up, and the cast fan wasnt spinning. I thought the CPU must have over heated and killed itself. Great...!

Then a day later I figured, if I have to use my parents crappy comp, I might as well put my soundcard and harddrive from my comp into theirs..

I got everything setup, and booted as far as the login screen.. when I tried to input my password, their system locked.. and wouldnt post on a reboot! Great!!!

So after playing with a ton of things, I discovered the sound card (Turtle Beach Santa Cruz) was what was keeping the systems from posting. I guess the sound card killed itself overnight? When its plugged in, and I turn the system on, the harddrive + power supply fan spins up, but nothing else happens.

Can I RMA this thing? I got it just under a year ago.. At the end of september last year. Warrenty in the manual says they back it against defects for one year. I got it from Amazon.com, who do I deal with? Turtle Beach directly? (newbie to RMA'ing)

does the manual say the manufacturer will replace it or the dealer? Call amazon first, then go to santa cruz.

I would bet its a manufacturer's warranty though

In the mean time does your system post with no sound card? it should.

yea, both work fine without the sound card.. one note, in a corner of the card, theres a few transistors that look slightly burnt. They also get VERY hot even after only being on for a few seconds..

way to crap in a thread. :disgust:
and have Gore, instead?

DaZ - forgetting the fact that you are probably a flaming liberal, I'm going to throw out a token of goodwill, and tell you to call Amazon, and ask, because many times the reseller will actually have a 1-year warranty of their own, and then after than its the manufacturer's problem. :)

Stepping off topic.. To be more specific, I am actually Canadian. And I am also, technically AMERICAN. I dont give a sh!t about Liberial or Consevative crap. I couldnt care less. My concern with Bush is his very real threat to world saftey. As he has proven in Iraq, he is very dangerous. And now as the US gains more control over Iraq, and still has yet to discover any 'Weapons of Mass Distruction', it is becomming more and more clear that Bush is more of a threat to the world then Saddam ever was.
