I bought a creative card in 99 when the disc for all the applications and drivers was for only 98 and win2k, and now that i have xp, the applications do not work anymore. So, now I need a complete program that is compatable with win xp; such programs include creative recorder. the audigy apps i tried to install didnt work for the sound blaster live 5.1. Anyone got any suggestions on what to do?

suggesstions are appreciated guys and gals, thanks...

the model is ct4760...it's not the 16 bit crappy sound blasters...it's a big sound card, about the width of a ati 9600 pro

haha, those are just patches sm8000, the problem is that they dont even install because the version is only 98 and win2k. That website doesn't even help. I've tried to install the applications manually by going through the CD and finding the install progs, then using the patches, but the patch doesnt detect any previous programs to patch. You can't even specify the root, which the prog is in, so the patch is useless. I've tried to contact creative, but they want me to buy another friggin disc for 20 bucks. I paid like 60 bucks for this soundcard back in 99, and now they want me to pay 20 bucks to upgrade the applications?

sad...=\

ANY $12 CMedia based sound card will out perform that SBLive, and won't have the IRQ issues the SBLive was cursed with. Your mobo may even have a decent onboard AC97 or Cmedia sound chip already.

There are different versions of SB Live, I have the premium soundcard that is able to do many other things than the onboard sound i have now. I need the software that creative provides to do a few mix edits. You see, I'm a DeeJay and I'm using a friend's computer to edit and mix songs, but his duuuumasss... forgot where he put his CD. So i'm left with to buy a stupid upgrade CD from creative or find a download or a place to get this CD. Perhaps maybe an .iso if anyone has it =P
It's not a soundcard that can easily be outperformed. it's not the crappy ones you see on creative's site.
