Sound Blaster PCI512

Does anyone here have this card ? The specs are almost the same as the LIVE series of cards but is about $15 cheaper that the LIVE value.

It doesn't have the nifty EMU 10k1 chip and all the things it's capable of. Not as "upgradable" in the future either.
Mind you, if all you're doing is playing games and you're not a hardcore audiophile, it's decent enough.

You're not experimenting with MIDI music at all are you?

According to creatives web site it does in fact have the EMU10k1 chip and supports EAX just like the live

Either way the Creative products are overpriced. Buy yourself an AOpen AW744Pro if you're considering a new sound card, it'll only cost you $27 at Computergate and does everything the live does, plus has an optical out if you ever plan to take your PC to a receiver + bookshelf speakers.

no liveware, this card is the LE or VE of Live value, intended for the market when live value retail was still $99.
but now you can get a value oem for about $40 or value oem with spdif out for about $50, pci512 is definitely a bad choice.
