Souncard to home receiver

Looks like the best you're going to get is input stereo analog to it and then have the receiver do whatever prologic it can do on the signal.

It wont be true surround sound, but it should come out all your speakers.

1/8" to dual RCA adapter + run RCA cable to one of the inputs.

It might be easiest to just send the front 2 channels to the receiver, then send the back two channels to some powered speakers.

Prologic is not really 5.1 since the back surround is a single channel to both speakers if I recall correctly. So even if the receiver did have 4- or 6-channel analog input it wouldn't work right.

Any digital input it has will just be 2-channel stereo for old CD players.

So what would you suggest me to buy to get true surround .I would prefer everyhting to be connected to one sound decoder as Im trying to create a Home theater system for my sat, tv, pc and dvd player

Ah so you are saying I should split the system ? hmmm thats another way of thinking that did not cross my mind.Might be possible but that would create more wires and speakers in the living room thank what I have in mind

What are you looking to spend here? New receiver would get the job done if you already have a 5.1 speaker system.

You could get this receiver then connect up each channel using rca/3.5mm adapters.

Well I would be willing to spend an average of 400 USd for a new sound receiver setup. I have 5 speakers and asubwoofer connected to my teac.Is that 5.1 ? (forgive me as im a noob) But probably I can get the receiver and new speakers witht that kind of money right?

Yes that is 5.1

What kind of speakers/sub do you have now?

And $400 is a stretch to get all new speakers and a receiver. You could certainly upgrade maybe your sub and receiver for that much though.

If you can't find that model, you're looking for something that has

"5.1 analog input"
or
"6 channel direct"

(or 6.1/7.1 analog input, 7/8 channel direct)

well my speakers are old timers Jws but the sound from them is ok I guess.They are big though so I would prefer to buy the modern smaler speakers.

My sub is an Infinity which I also had for a very long time.does its job as well though
 
Do you know how prices of this sort of stuff compares to US prices at all?

It's hard enough to get 5 speakers and a receiver over here for $400.

Normally I'd say try to find an Onkyo HTIB as a reference point to compare other options to.

Over here you can get one for a little over $400 that has 5.1 analog input

A new receiver on its own with 5.1 analog input is going to run you about $250 on its own.

What are you hoping to hook up? (DVD player, computer, VCR?)

z-5500s @ $450 might be a better option than that kenwood set @ $640.

The speakers will certainly be small with that option.

Well I am trying to hook up the sat receiver, dvd player and the pc to one system. Is that possible with the logitechs ?
