Soul/comfort Food

As I eat my Mongolian Beef and Pork fried rice I must declare that Americanized Chinese food is probably my comfort food. When I've had a terrible day nothing makes me feel better than sitting down for some yummy take out from some of my favorite Chinese food places. Thai food is amazing but its usually more expensive so I feel less guilty getting Chinese. I am lucky to live in Seattle where so many quality Asian theme restaurants are available. What comfort/soul foods or do you guys eat?

Italian or German. Probably more on the german side - love me some veal schnitzel. It's tough to find good german food so i normally just make it.

Basically carbs and meat are my comfort food.

my ultimate comfort food is a buffalo chicken sub with bacon and mayo from quickcheck

that was, of course, the first thing to go when I started dieting 😛

My wife's peanut butter cookies...

Also, especially on a cold winter evening, I really crave her "swiss steak."

me too, except for the korean part 😛 A hot bowl of Ramen is the perfect remedy for a dreary, freezing NYC Winter. I also grew up on Curry House in Japan, and always feel at ease when eating it 🙂

American, I assume.

Macaroni and cheese (homemade) with stewed tomatoes is pretty good.
Chocolate ice cream, also good.
Or cinnamon raisin bread, also homemade.

The only downside is that cooking bores me to tears.

I feel particularly satisfied while eating a steak, hamburger, or hot dog. I'm an American and proud of it.

Edit: Or a bowl of New England clam chowder. The thought of it right now makes me want to go to Cape Cod.

As many mashed potatoes as I can get my hands on. I can sit down and eat a 5lb pound bag worth of mashed potatoes easy
