Soul Calibur IV

I got SC4 over the summer and I've been playing it pretty casually but I started playing online over the past month. I would say I'm pretty good at the game but I have noticed that some characters just seem to dominate other characters with not much skill required. I'm just going to list what I THINK but I would really like to know if any of you feel the same way and know of other characters that have an "advantage" over another. I know skill conquers all but sometimes the cheese factor really seems to be there! 😛

Here's what I mean. (I usually play Cervantes)

Cervantes > Kilik
Maxi > Cervantes
Astaroth > Cervantes

OMG the eye candy in this game is insane. I wish they would make a DOA beach volleyball style game for the PS3.

I tend to do very well with Cervantes and Shura, too. Just something about their reach and power that makes them brutal as hell.

This game is so bad and unbalanced. Hilde can ring someone out from anywhere.

I don't agree at all. It may be a bit unbalanced, but I was able to use the majority of characters against anybody and do alright. It's not that bad.

Wasn't there some kind of trick with single-player where you could utterly dominate with Astaroth, skill-free?

Oh, I have no idea. I haven't played Soul Calibur since number 2 on the GameCube with Link. 🙂

I just thought that everyone picked Nightmare "cuz he iz kewl liek sephiroth!" 😉

Yeah on Astaroth. It was like an axe sweep and then an overhead thing. I forget how to do it but you could utterly destroy the comp like that.
