But I gotta say...the American voices they put in the US version SUCK! I switched them to japanese almost immediately. Ugh I didn't think people could make English sound so retarded.

Still the game rocks...its nice to be able to actually read stuff. I had the japanese version and I couldn't do anything on the weapon master quests.

got it early with a hookup...but you guys should all see it available today.
I have it on Xbox.

so we all know the PS2 version suX0rz...so are y'all gettin' the GC version or the Xbox version? And I understand the whole Link/Gamecube thing, but why is the Xbox character Spawn? You'd think it would be Master Chief from Halo or something...

I'm getting the GC version of course...

I honestly don't know why the XBOX character is Spawn. Maybe microsoft has a deal with Todd Mcfarlane or something, i dunno.

Gamecube version will rock, but the controls are crap without an arcade stick or a dual shock > Gamecube controller converter.

Todd McFarlane was contracted by Namco to help with some character in the game. He created Necrid(available in all versions) and Namco decided to put a special character in the game, so they got him to do Spawn for the Xbox since it really doesn't have a mascot.

Dammit, I was gonna say that :). Anyways, Rent is correct. McFarlane did Necrid (and judging by reviews, Necrid is one of the least likeable characters in the game), and this stemmed into him doing Spawn for them (or vice-versa).

I own all 3 systems, so I have my pick of which special character I want. I'm picking XBOX, because Spawn is just kick ass. Link is cool too, but I don't like the 'Cube controller for sports or fighting games. I feel sorry for those who are stuck with the PS2 version. It's still a great game, but what a shotty special character they have......

which system did IGN pick for the best version. Me is guessing the XBOX cuz of Spawn and HDTV support.

If you ask this because of my comments, I'm sorry. The PS2 version will be just as great as the XBOX and Cube versions. It's just that PS2 owners get shafted when it comes to the special character. But that's IT. Nothing more, nothing less. It's just a special character you wouldn't have otherwise, so it's not too big a deal.

Everything about the PS2 version is as superior as the other versions. All play equally.

think it will be playable at all witht he stock gamecube controller? i can't justify an arcade stick for just one game when funds are tight.

Yeah I played the demo at gamestop on GC. I actually liked it better on the GC controller than on X-box....

First I've heard of someone saying that. Everything I've read on this game so far (and I've read a LOT), the Gamecube controller is oft the least liked. I honestly don't think it'd be a hindrance though, so I wouldn't worry about springing for the stick yet. With anything, it just takes time to get used to after you use the standard button layout like the PS2 or XBOX (sans b&w buttons) have.
