How can Sossaman which is built off of Yonah be 64 but CPU, but Core Duo also built of Yonah not be a 64 bit CPU. They have the same core, the yonah core.

Different achatechture. Theyre using the same layout as Yonah and Core Duo, but using a different achatecture...

Intel has already said Sossaman uses the same core as Core Duo, Yonah.

Sossaman isn't 64Bit in the slightest, but being a server processor it has the ability for 36Bit Addressing, there are ways around the 32Bit limitation without 64Bit Extensions.

According to intel Sossaman supports EMT64T, so shouldn't that mean Sossaman is 64bit.

who cares if it does or doesn't? hasn't 64-bit windows and linux been out for awhile now yet there aren't many true 64-bit apps out?

Ok, what document does Intel claim such a statement???

Everything I am seeing, says it does NOT support EM64T..if you have seen differant give us a link..like cold power said, it's using 36bit addressing.

64bit may not be that useful in consumer systems but servers are a completely different matter.

I believe that Hexus has it wrong...the only difference between Yonah and Sossaman is that Sossaman will be capable of multiple processors.
