I agree, wasn't no one complaining with those huge ratings and packed stadiums those guys revived. But Greg Maddux said during those years that he felt the baseball was juiced he thought.

You are incorrect.

i dont think so
roid use was rampant
millions of bucks at stake
they hit the hr,they pitched they won
etc
how do u not let a guy with 609!!! career hrs in(who also never tested positive)
and another with 583
against roided comp, and drugged out adversaries
i wont contest they are creatures of their time not boyscouts but ffs
these are greats players well see a handful like in ourlifetime

Yea, no. Neither of them belong in the HOF. Cheats should never, ever be given the opportunity. They simply do not deserve it.

If they keep Charlie Hustle out for what he did as a manager and not a player, then they should not let those two in as players.

The HOF tells the story of baseball. For better or worse roids were / are a part of the game. Hell Pete Rose should be in the HOF. MLB has banned him and that is fine with me. He should be banned for what he did. But let the all time hits leader in the HOF.

sort of agree. How are we going to cherry pick who did/didn't juice? You think any of those guys from the 70s or 80s never took anything?

Big Mac admitted to it, Sosa was caught with corked bats + on PED positive list so fck no. Anyone caught cheating bigtime or who made a confession (or any other evidence) shouldn't be in. And no, pine tar and spitballs don't really count as cheating. If you've ever played baseball, you know how big a deal it is to use a corked (fungo) bat.

Just for shits and giggles:
Mark McGwire's Changing Muscles
McGwire crying in his confession

While it's admirable that McGwire came clean, he still doesn't belong in the Hall.
Saying stupid shit like "there's not a pill or injection that's going to give me the hand eye to hit a baseball" while conveniently not mentioning that it gave him a huge advantage (faster swing with a heavier bat that allowed normal pop flies to barely clear the fence for a HR that would have been an out otherwise) is ludicrous.

It's either all or none. If you let one guy in who was caught, then you have to let them all in. Right now it's none and I agree with that, they chose to use illegal substances and should be penalized by exclusion to the Hall of Fame.

Sports stars use PED - we should just allow it, even the field so to speak. If someone wants to do so many PED's that their balls get cancer, or shrivel up into little raisins, as long as people are entertained and the athlete doesn't mind doing it, why make such a big deal from it?

The problem is how do you determine who was 'caught'? Was Clemens caught? Was Bagwell? Was Piazza? Note that I'm not asking if they took steroids, I'm asking if they were caught taking steroids.

I wouldn't say we should let more people in from the steroid era just because their numbers were higher, but the best pitcher and position player of the steroids era definitely deserve to be in the hall.

I'm for Rose being in as well.

agreed.

they should be in. i have no issue also having it marked that it was when roids were at a all time high and they were busted for useing it.

Clemens was on the Mitchell report, so nope.
Interviews with José Canseco and trainer Brian McNamee stated that Clemens used human growth hormone, Deca-Durabolin, Winstrol, Sustanon, and Anadrol, during the 1998, 2000, and 2001 MLB seasons, some of which he obtained through McNamee from Radomski. Radomski corroborated these allegations as far as to say that he sold performance-enhancing drugs to McNamee in amounts that were clearly for redistribution. Clemens declined interview.[28]

It depends on the evidence, but any admission or being on a confidential list or evidence from a previously sealed grand jury (Bonds) should be used to make a final determination.

Piazza and Bagwell, there's no evidence against them so they should be in.

This. No way should they be considered for the baseball HOF. That's an insult to those who stayed clean then and now.

I agree with this. I don't know why they didn't get in this year.

Mainly because of the symbolic protest of the idiot writers not voting anyone from that era in this year. They should get in eventually though, they were pretty much innocent bystanders along with Biggio/Schilling.
