I wonder if gasoline would go bad if it were in something like a propane tank. Air and humidity trash gasoline. Keep it completely sealed it should last. Maybe not forever, but a long time.

Ultimately, yes - because what "gasoline" is referred to as today isn't the same as previous.

Our "gasoline" is 10% ethanol. Over time when sitting the ethanol begins to separate since they were previously blended.

This is why leaving gas in your yard tools (lawnmower, edger, etc..) is a big no-no and will screw it up.

Ditch the gas grill for pellet grill. Best combo IMO is pellet grill for smoking and light grilling and Weber kettle for heavy grilling. That way you can grill steaks and meat on the kettle and smoke on the pellet grill. Pellet grill can grill too but not optimal as the Weber kettle.

Ditch the pellet grill for rendering your neighbors and using the fat for fuel. Better smoke, makes everything taste like bacon.

I get alcohol free gas for my small engines. I have to drive to another state to get it, but imo it's worth it.

I've seen it available at rural gas stations called Buckee's here in TX where they sell it without the ethanol.

I honestly didn't even know it was legal to do so. I thought all the lobbying from corn farmers basically made it a requirement?

But yeah, I'm not the most expert on the subject - so I don't know if there is any separation / going bad if it's just pure gasoline. Maybe someone else that's an expert on the subject can enlighten us.

But, but, but the government would never fuck up something like gas so the corn boys make billions, right?

I've got a station that's ~3 miles away...supposedly ethanol free.

Usually after the government screwed the pooch 1st then they get to come in and "fix" the problem.

Yea, corn gas pisses me off. All the alleged benefits are pretty dubious, while the detriments are well documented. It's socialism, and not even the good kind(the kind that benefits me :^P ).

These are cheap, and they work for testing fuel...

Fill it to the line with water, top off with gas. The alcohol gets pulled out of the mix, and can clearly be seen in the vial.

You need to inflate to whatever the max psi rating of the propane tank is, as it's calibrated for that type of propane. Make sure you use all season propane if using it for a car.
