TTIWWP ... of the ring!

Congratulations.

When/where/how did you propose? It's refreshing to see a story where the girl doesn't pick out the ring and then tell the guy to propose. That's the story of the last 3 proposals of people I know.

Pics of the ring to follow, apparently I'm not a skilled enough photographer to take close up pictures of a diamond.. it's not that easy!

When: Last night

Where: Her house

How: Let me preface this by letting you know that she is a crier (this will be important later)
So I got a big gift bag and some tissue paper and packaged up a box of tissues real nice.
I went in the house first to make sure everything was good to go. Told her I had a present for her in the car and went to get it.

I handed her the bag and she started pulling out the tissue paper and when she got to the box of tissues she said "Oh goodie, tissues!"

I said "You're going to need them"

..Ring
..Knee

..sobbing...sobbing...YES..sobbing.. etc.

That's about it.

Ah, the marriage is doomed because you didn't also put anti eye puffy cream in the bag. :)

QFT my friend did that. Worst part it he and his now finance are both only 19 and are getting married in the middle of 2008. They will both only be 20 years old and still have 2 years of college ahead of them.

Anyways how I understand it is she kept asking and asking about an engagement, so one day they went and picked out a ring. I guess she got her wedding dress later that day (who proposes in the AM anyways?).

They have been together since freshman year of HS and have never been with anyone else, and I think a big motivation is that she wants the sex and doesn't believe in sex before marriage).

Also I know both sides of their relationship because the guy was one of by best friends and the girl was good friends with my ex.

Anyways back on topic, Congrats! At least you have a good story to tell people (or she can tell people).

What is this "man card" thing you speak of? :p

You know you have a collection of a few hundred "man cards" on a dog tag chain wrapped around your bed post Mosh......don't play coy.

After getting to this post, the rest of the thread is completely worthless to me, save for Mosh's reply and the continuation of this specific conversation.

Grats to the OP, but I want the skinny on who's been railing her
