Well last night I took the plunge and asked my GF of a year and a half to marry me.

Ring, down on one knee, the whole 9 yards.

She cried like a baby (did manage to squeeze a yes in there though!)

There is no date set as of yet but my guess would be some time in 2009.

We have been very busy the last few weeks moving into a new place. Once everything is settled down we can focus more on planning everything.

can someone tell me where I turn in my man card?

thank

Only a year and a half? Great, if you are getting married in 2009, then there is plenty of time to reconsider. :)

Keep the man card, you might need it again.

Store the man card in a safe deposit box, you may need that again. Congrats on the engagement!

We are both in our 30's and have spent pretty much every waking moment of that year and a half together. The time was right ;)

For a wedding present you can ask for a :camera:

Congrats. I have loved being married these 9.5 years. Hope you do too.

don't take this as a criticism, but why wait two years? i don't see the point of long engagements

if you both want to get married, then get married

could be money, or the church they wanted is all booked...

Also, 2009 is only roughly 1 1/6 years away...
