Sorry guys, enough is enough.

Its all very well being given our own DC forum, but the lack of support from those at the top with regards to this Team is nothing short of appalling, and while I would like to remain to see us gain in the Top Team standing, I fear that without proper support its just not going to happen.

Many thanks to those of you who continue to put 110% into the Team.

Sorry that you're leaving Migroo! 🙁🙁🙁 As a S@H newbie I don't know what support from the top you expect or what the norm is for SETI teams, but sadly I suspect there isn't much since few are getting rich or famous by crunching WUs. (Hopefully Robor et. al. can work something up though.)

Besides, the best support comes from your peers and as a relatively new addition to the TeAm - I hope you decide to come back and help us advance through the top ten. Good luck wherever you decide to go....

 
I hope I didn't mislead anyone. I'm not the creator or admin of the SETI Team Anandtech Yahoo group so I can't invite/approve anyone. I'm just an involved member there and I just happened to see a post here regarding support (or the lack thereof) and thought it a good idea to mention that we're currently discussing this there. I can point you to the link or person running it but that's about it.

Let me say that this Yahoo group is not some sort of rogue offsite anti-TA thing. The main reason for creating that group was to discuss things that can't or shouldn't be done here. By that I mean it gives members who are banned in the Anandtech Forums a place to chat with their teammates. Another reason was to discuss ideas to help boost production where it's not in public view of the competition (yes, we know you're watchin' 😉 ). One of those ideas is if/how we can get more support from Anandtech. IMO, anyone interested in this topic should say so. The more members involved the more ideas we'll have and hopefully the end result will be a more powerful TeAm Anandtech.

You can't leave us old chap! 🙁 The TeAm is more than it's namesake.... it's all of US... me and you and him and her and all of these people we call TA'ers. It's Engineer's more... more... MORE!!! slogan, and C&C's monster dumps, and OD's crack-me-up race commentary!! 😀 It's all the statsmasters (Smokey, OD, Soni and all you other guyz I can't name!) and all the Queue Masters (OK, CAD) and good ol Ray who comes round with his cane to keep us crunching in line!! 😉

Of course the light is on, the door is open and there's a place with your name on it here at TA! 🙂

My question is - What Team are you guys going to that has support "from the top". I ask because maybe someday if this hot issue is at some point read by "the top" here that maybe that Team you guys go over to might become the model for this Forum site to go by.
Just a thought, strictly IMO and hypothetical, I do not know anyone at the AT site in charge including the owner, never have e-mail etc.
They did support me in a silent kind of way which worked in my situation but do not know if that is the way it is supposed to work as far as the support you guys are looking for as far as DC projects as a whole.

migroo, I am also curious. On 5/31, you congratulated a fellow AT member in a thread. On 5/29, you were mentioned and congratulated in a SETI thread at least twice.

Sorry to see you go, but what can AT do to improve? What exactly pushed you out the door?

I'm especially concerned about the Migroo leaving annoucement since he is from across the pond. It has always been so impressive of how the TA site and membership has been an assemblage of individuals from all around the world, hate to see that diminished in any way 🙁

You just missed the post where this "offsite forum" was organized. Anyone on the SETI TeAm is invited to join in ... I just need to know who's interested. It is not mandatory to join in ... purely an option.

Yep, this is so that nobody from other teams etc can just look in and see what plans of action we are discussing. That is the only thing that the "invited and approved" bit is for.

There are some really good discussions and ideas being thrown around in there, and the more people who get involved will make it better for everyone 🙂

Migroo, sorry to see you go🙁 But the way I've always seen it is you're crunching for the TeAm, and the Anandtech forums are merely a place to meet and discuss DC, nothing more. Anandtech is a primarily a hardware review site, not some DC sponsership agency. They have shown us some support (ie link on the front page) and some teams don't even get that. How much more can you expect?Remember, it's about the people, not the site.
