I remember reading somewhere that we just went through extreams in terms of generations. The WW2 generation was strict and traditionalist, while their children were the hippies, long hair, very opposed to many a things. The children of the hippies in turn shaved their heads, rebelling against the rebellious nature of the hippies. The next generation to start having kids on such a massive scale is slated to be an equalizer, somewhat balancing both extremes.
