Sore throat remedies?

So I was sick for a few days. I'm perfectly fine now, but my throat is still sore from all of the coughing. It's making my voice sound funny. In about 27 hours I have a date with a wonderful girl and I need this all fixed up! So I implore ATOT for your wisdom. What can I do? I've been drinking a lot of water and not speaking much - that's about it. What has worked for you? I'll try anything.

Put some salt in warm water and gargle (sp?) with it.

That said, I like having a sore throat from being sick. It always makes my voice sound sexier. Gets the girls all moist.
 
Listerine, the strong stuff. It hurts like hell, but works like a charm. Trust me.

Get an antiseptic spray from your local CVS, Rite-Aid, Osco, whatever.

Just spray that thing at the back of your throat (usually ~ 5 times) before sleeping and it will numb it up real good. Doing this before sleeping and taking amoxicillin (or similar antibiotic) should get you over strep throat real quick (assuming that's what you have in the first place)

Orange juice though it may burn a bit. Vitamin C chewable tablets. I like Ludens cherry cough drops. Usually end up eating a bags worth of those when I'm sick. If you want it to feel better like immediately there's always Chloraseptic. That stuff is god awful, but whatever is in it stops your throat from feeling raw for a good amount of time. It makes it feel almost numb.

I woke up with a really sore throat to begin my current cold a few days ago. I gargled with some scope and it killed the sore throat instantly.

I still got the cold though 🙁
 
Get some fresh golden seal root, some call it yellowroot. cut it up, boil it in water and drink. Tastes like yellow triaminic x 500 but works VERY well
 
Thanks for the tips guys! I'll be trying them this evening. I don't really care if my throat is still sore for tomorrow, but I just can't have my voice sounding all screwy.

 
I get sore throat twice a year and everytime that happened I ended up losing my voice. I tried all kind of remedies but the only thing that worked for me is taking antibiotic as soon as I feel pain in my throat. Good luck.
 
anything that makes you salivate, suck on something salty. I usually suck on some li hing mui, dunno if you can get that though.
