Sore flexor tendons in my hand

So I played back to back rounds of disc golf yesterday for the first time this year, and the flexor tendons on my ring and middle finger were a little sore after the first eight or nine holes. I didn't think much of it then, but the pain kept getting worse last night, and they still hurt today. I still have full range of motion in the fingers, but if I put any force on them they hurt a lot. Putting my belt on was bad, for example. There are no catches or particular areas that hurt, it just seems to go from the tip to about halfway down my palm.

My thought on it is, since I've really been working on throwing power and snapping the disc really hard, I just stretched the tendons out a little doing hard drives (the ring and middle finger sit on the inside of the rim, and are what the disc snaps off of when I toss). I put a heating pad on my hand for a while last night and again this morning, but I haven't taken any anti-inflammatory yet (I will when I get home from work in an hour).

Anyone have any experience with flexor tendon injuries? Should I go to a doctor with it? Should I wait a few days and see if the pain subsides?

Thanks in advance.

update: at some point while doing some basic exercises (pushups, crunches, stretching) just now, the middle finger tendon is no longer sore, and feels totally normal. The ring finger one still hurts. Strange.

A fellow disc golfer, awesome. :)

Sounds like a strain, I'd soak the hand in some hot water (hot as you can stand) with epsom salts. Take ibuprofen for pain and swelling, and give it time. Shouldn't be anything serious enough to see the doc, but if it doesn't show improvement over the course of a 3-4 days, then go in.

I haven't played lately, mostly because of the winds and fires here in Central Florida, smoke+wind= :(
