The fifth season was starting out well, but this week's episode was... it was a religious experience it was so f'n good.

My roommate watched it yesterday with his dad and said, "My dad said it was pretty good. Pretty good? It changed my LIFE it was so good."

Obviously these are exaggerations, but that was an incredible episode. Your thoughts on this season so far?

Best quote:

Tony S - "Doc, could you help us with something. Just come over here and talk to a friend of mine about my accident the other day."

Doctor - "Please, I just finished a 17-hour rotation and I would like to go home."

Tony B - "Any gunshot wounds or broken knee caps?"

Itsa little early for my thoughts. I hate when people pick apart tv show seasons before they are over. It has to be taken completely in before you should pass judgement. Each episode is part of a full story. Everyone is need of this quick fix every week. People complain its boring or not violent enough. When the season is over it should then be analyzed. But thats probably just me thinking this way.

I agree, except for the last episode of last season. That was just amazing. Lorraine was amazing, as she was in this episode. Like when Tony grabbed her towards the end of the episode and she tugged away and brushed off her arm. It's little things like that that really sell a character, and they also get you Emmys.

Easy now, I'm not saying that it's a good or bad season yet, and I would hope that most people wouldn't pass judgement on the entire season until it's over, but you can still judge what has already been shown on its own laurels.

And by the way, while I don't NEED the violence, it is still a staple of the show, and I've really missed seeing anyone get whacked. Where are the random killings from seasons past? Like when Christopher threw that brick (was it a rock?) at that waiter who then went into shock and was shot by Paulie. That was awesome. I can't help but miss that.

I think Christopher will turnout OK in the end. I LOVED the last scene, and I think it smoothed things over for him. He was absolutely incredible, and I would like to add him to the Emmy nomination list I started above. I think he's long overdue.

Im not directing this at you. It has come up in other threads. People saying how they hate this season already. Ive seen it in threads about other shows also. It just drives me nuts how people can sum up an entire season in the 1st or 2nd episode.

The rock incident was from this season. How can you miss it if it just happened?

She is going to end up in a car trunk soon I think...
Definitely. I thought she was going to go in the last episode (thought she would die in the car accident). She's gone before the end of this season though.

I... I have no excuse. I'm an idiot.

I think Adrianna will stick around for awhile. Mark my words: this show will end with Tony Soprano either being shot or put in jail. I think Adrianna is a likely conduit for that second destination, and therefore I think she'll stay. I wish that Tony would find out about the cops that are coming after him and kill them all. Retribution like that would be AWESOME to witness on the small screen.

The way I think it might happen is Christopher finds out about the FBI and takes care of her. I don't think he could tell anyone because if you can't control your woman then you are just as bad as she is, and he would end up dead too.

It seems to me that Tony, Adriana, and Christopher can't all survive after last night's episode, and they aren't killing off Tony. If they want to keep the show alive for another season (and to the best of my knowledge this is an open issue), it seems likely that Adriana will end up in a shallow grave before the end of the season.

You're right about two things: if he finds out about the FBI, he'll kill her without telling anyone, and if someone else finds out about the FBI, he and Adrianna will be dead. But I still don't think she'll be dead after this season.

The show will definitely have another season. No question. This is not up in the air. David Chase said that he just can't wrap everything up in one season, so they're planning the whole series to come to a close at the end of next season. There won't be any deviation from that unless maybe - and that's a huge maybe - they extend it another season, but I don't see that happening.

Well, Drea Dimatteo has been reported as working on several other TV projects (such as the Friends spinoff Joey) for awhile now. Even Joey Pants didn't start working on another show until his character was whacked. I think that indicates the future of her character.

Damn, that sounds right to me. But it's possible that she could have worked the Friends spinoff schedule around her Sopranos schedule. Good for her, but I'll be sad if she goes.

I don't think they've even started filming Joey. The fact is that major characters from the Sopranos don't even commit to other shows until they've been "dispatched." ;) At least that's what I read in AMNY the other day...

This is what I could find:
Is Drea DiMatteo about to get bumpe? The "Sopranos" snitch will co-star as a wisecracking Italian-American hairdresser in the "Friends" spin off "Joey," proving that if you whack the character, you can't kill a stereotype.
Maybe this reporter (a CNN entertainment reporter) knows something.
