Oh man are we tired. We are finally going on a vacation (first time in a long time) down to San Diego to visit some family. We stayed up to get the house cleaned, the dog clipped and bathed and everyone packed. Made it to bed at 1:15am figuring we would be a little tired when we had to get up at 6am to leave for the airport by 7am.

WRONG:frown: At 2:30am, we were awoken by out 3.5 year old daughter saying she had an earache (she had lots of ear infections when younger, including a trip to the ER in SD). I was so tired I seriously though I was having a very bad dream. At this time all the urgent care facilities are closed so off we went to the ER. Sure enough, she has a raging ear infection.:(

So now at 5:20am it would be of no use to try and sleep for 45 minutes. Ugggg..this is going to be a long day especially with a layover in Denver.:(:(

While in the ER there were quite a few kids (college age) that were there for injuries due to brawls. Evidently the O 0f M Gophers lost tonight and these kids were in fights. They tried to elicit some sympathy from me, but after hearing them talk about drinking before their fight, they got no sympathy from me. Especially when we heard that one of them was taken down by a cop after refusing the cop's orders and fighting with the cop. Hehe..this kid is now going in to oral sugary for a broken jaw or something to that effect. :Q

Having an ear infection and flying, is there anything you can do to help your little one be more comfortable?

Motrin for the pain and Benadryl (antihistamine) to help keep the station tubes clear is what the ER doc told us. That is one of our concerns is making her as comfortable as possible.
