Couldn't find one in yellow? :D

Congrats, I'll have to give one of those a test drive one of these days.

Congrats!

I purposefully did not look at RX-8s when I purchased my G35 due to the MPG.. Not that the G35 is great either, but maaaaan.. the RX-8 is horrible in that regards.

wowwwwwwwwwww-wee thats real bad.

No, bad is my father's SRT8 300c - his computer says he is averaging 8MPG lol. He has a super heavy foot, and is thinking about supercharging it.

66 year old men should not be driving like he does. ^_^

Nice car no doubt, congrats! This should keep you happy for a while. But I am curious, what did you cross shop this against? Also, if this is the style of car you like, why where you leasing a GLI?

... kinda like how everyone gets AWD/RWD Eclipses from the 90s. Super cheap to buy, and a ton of fun. :)

BTW Eclipse where FWD / AWD.

I actually would figure less. Maybe in the 10-13MPG range. lol
Holy fvcking sh*t, what? You didn't like me thinking about doubling my gas mileage if I replace my maxima and go to a prius so you're trying to counter by halving it? :)

Hah, I thought there was a rwd version - n00b mistake. ;)

I cross-shopped between this, a BMW 135i and a 370z. Never got around to test driving the 370z, and the BMW was nice, but the salesman never let me step on the gas without getting nervous. He also only let me drive 4 city blocks...seriously. Car felt ok, but more bulkier than I thought it would be. Never once got to punch it.

The GLi was good for my needs back then, I had a few friends and was the guy who drove everyone around. Nowadays, I have 1 or 2 friends, and don't need a sedan anymore. I was always envious of my friends RX8's handling. He hasn't seen this yet -- he thought I was buying an 04. :)

Funny you say that. I drove it on a full tank yesterday, and already am under half a tank today! My goodness this thing sucks gas...lol It's ok though, I am back on work rotation this week. (2.5 miles each way.)

How are you breaking it in?

I looked at the gov fuel economy site. I think your gas estimates are probably pessimistic, which is good. It's bad on gas but I think you'll average better than 10-13 unless you constantly drive it like you're racing :)

Driving 2.5 miles at a time is no way to break in a car...nor is it any way to drive a car that you want to last.

Nice car, btw.

Well, it does have 6900 miles already so the break-in probably has or hasn't happened by now.

With 7000 miles on it, I hope its broken in already. I am driving it like I stole it. I had a really hard time with it this morning though, because of rainy weather. Kept spinning the damn tire unintentionally when taking off. This car's gas pedal is infinitely sensitive compared to my Jetta.

It's really throwing me off and becoming annoying. ugh. It's like I am learning to drive stick again.

I've put a lot of miles on already, and I am not going to "save" miles like I did on my leased Jetta. It's in good hands. :)
